Reportable Events Detected Automatically

Automatic regulatory incident reporting across 12 international frameworks including RIDDOR, OSHA, WHS, DGUV and more. Auto-detection, deadline calculation, and submission preparation — so you never miss a reporting obligation.

How Auto-Detection Works

Each framework has its own trigger criteria. Here's how it works for UK RIDDOR (one of 12 supported frameworks):

1

Fatalities

Death arising from workplace activity. Immediate reporting required.

2

Specified Injuries

Fractures (except fingers/thumbs/toes), amputations, crush injuries, burns, scalping, loss of consciousness, hypothermia/heat illness, chemical exposure requiring resuscitation.

3

Over-7-Day Incapacitation

Worker unable to perform normal duties for more than 7 consecutive days. 15-day reporting deadline.

4

Dangerous Occurrences

27 specified dangerous occurrences including collapse of scaffolding, explosion, gas release, lifting equipment failure.

5

Occupational Diseases

Carpal tunnel syndrome, occupational dermatitis, hand-arm vibration syndrome, occupational asthma, tendonitis, and others.

6

Gas Incidents

Incidents involving flammable gas or carbon monoxide. Immediate reporting required.

7

Hospital Treatment of Non-Workers

Members of the public taken to hospital as a result of a workplace incident. 10-day reporting deadline.

Other frameworks (OSHA, WHS, DGUV, etc.) have their own specific trigger criteria. The system applies the correct framework rules automatically based on your location settings.

When a Reportable Event is Detected

The system handles the entire workflow — from detection through to investigation.

Automatic Flagging

Report is automatically flagged as potentially reportable to regulators based on the incident details entered.

Review Queue

Routed to a review queue for the responsible person to confirm reportability and complete any additional required information.

Deadline Calculated

System calculates the reporting deadline based on the framework and incident type. Tracks approaching deadlines and sends reminders.

Investigation Auto-Triggered

Serious reportable incidents automatically trigger a formal investigation workflow with evidence collection, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

12 International Regulatory Frameworks

The compliance engine is configuration-driven. Organisations with sites in multiple countries configure different regulatory frameworks per location.

Why It Matters

Regulatory reporting is where organisations face real anxiety. Miss a reporting deadline and you face enforcement action, potential prosecution, and insurance implications. But manually checking every incident against multiple trigger categories with varying deadlines is error-prone and stressful.

EHS Genesis automatically detects reportable incidents from the data already entered, calculates the deadline for the relevant framework (RIDDOR, OSHA, WHS, etc.), leaving you more time to focus on looking after your people.
